SAINTS, MASCOTS & monsters
Even though I’m not a painter of religious subjects, recently I’ve been drawn to the stories of the Saints. In particular, Saints who have had some kind of relationship with an unusual creature, like “St. George and the Dragon.” The more research I did, the more Saints and creatures I found, so I decided to start work on a series of pictures that currently has the title, “Saints, Mascots and Monsters.” Here are the first five paintings in the series, so far.” — SG
