“This was one of the most enjoyable Santa paintings I’ve had the chance to work on!”

It’s Christmas Eve, and the frosty North Pole air crackles with excitement! Everywhere, everyone is busy with last minute activities and the stable is no exception. Bustling in the warm glow of the reindeer stable, elves ready the team for their big annual journey. One by one, the reindeer are led from their stalls to the harnessing platform. Deft hands secure the deer into the harnesses that will help each to do their part in pulling Santa’s sleigh through the star-studded sky. Santa is here, too, making sure everything goes as planned. He knows how excited his team can be at this moment and wants to be on hand.

As the first two reindeer are harnessed and ready, the others prance and paw in their stalls - anxious to be in the air. Santa takes one of the harnessed deer and Quinch, the Elf, takes the other.

“Are you ready, Quinch?” Santa asks.

Quinch tightens his grip on the lead and nods.

"Okay,” Santa calls out, “We’ve got Dancer and Prancer,” and then he whistles. The big stable door spring open, and the excited reindeer can barely keep their hooves on the ground. “On to the sleigh,” calls Santa. “It looks like my friends are raring to go!” —-SG
