Classic Fairy Tales is a book that was in the making for a long time, as ten of the larger paintings had been done originally as images for collector's plates and limited edition prints - in the hopes that someday they would be the foundation for a large book of fairy tales.
In addition to these original works, Scott painted an additional sixty-five images to fill out the book - as every spread contains color illustrations.
Classic Fairy Tales was originally published in 2003 by The Greenwich Workshop Press, and has gone through several reprintings.
This book was also awarded a Chesley award for best interior book illustrations from the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists.
